Boltless storeroom shelving · Singapore

Storeroom racks in Singapore, sized to fit an HDB storeroom

A boltless white metal rack that stands 200cm tall and comes complete with four adjustable shelves. Seven sizes, from S$160, built around the dimensions a Singapore storeroom or household shelter actually gives you.

It is the storage rack Singapore homes order most, and the one we are asked for by name as a store room rack. As a boltless rack supplier and metal rack supplier in Singapore we hold all seven sizes, so a straightforward order ships from stock rather than being made to order.

We deliver storeroom racks island-wide in Singapore, so the only thing left to get right is the size. Depth is what decides whether a rack fits: 40cm for a narrow shelter wall, 50cm for a typical storeroom, 60cm when you are storing bulky things. Pick the depth first, then the length that suits your wall.

What you are actually buying

200kg per shelf

Each shelf level is rated to carry up to 200kg of evenly spread load, so a full bay takes household stock, tools and boxed goods without sagging.

Adjustable shelf heights

Shelf levels move up and down the upright in fixed increments. Set them tall for luggage and coolers, or tight for document boxes.

White powder-coated steel

A baked white epoxy finish resists corrosion in a humid, unventilated storeroom and keeps a small room looking bright rather than boxed in.

Boltless, no drilling

Beams tap into the uprights by hand and the shelf panels drop on top. Nothing is fixed to your wall or floor — which matters in a household shelter.

Where it goes

One wall, one rack, no wasted floor

In a standard HDB storeroom or household shelter, a single bay against the longest wall is usually the right answer. It leaves the door swing clear, keeps the floor in front of the shelves walkable, and gives you four full levels of storage out of a footprint barely wider than the boxes themselves.

If your room has two usable walls meeting at a corner, look at the L-shaped rack with no centre pole instead. Two straight racks pushed into a corner collide at the uprights and leave a block of floor you can never really reach; the L-shaped version carries one continuous shelf around the corner and recovers it.

Either way, measure before you order. The three numbers that catch people out are the door opening, the ceiling clearance and the skirting at the base of the wall — all covered in how to measure your storeroom.

Build detail

The welded side frame is what makes it strong

Each side of the rack arrives as one welded frame — two uprights already braced together — rather than as loose legs to be joined on site. That is the single detail that decides how a tall rack behaves under load: a welded frame is triangulated, and a triangle does not pull out of square. It is also why the rack is rigid before the shelves go in, so you can leave the bottom bay open for a suitcase or a drying rack and still have a solid structure.

It is the reason commercial buyers keep coming back to this rack. In an office store, a retail back room or a kitchen, a rack is loaded unevenly, reached past and knocked by trolleys all day. The welded side frame is what absorbs that for years rather than months.

The uprights then sit on flat base plates, which spread the load over a fuller contact area and are gentler on tiled and vinyl flooring than a narrow foot. Rubber padding is supplied with every rack.

Assembly itself is quick: boltless, with no nuts, bolts or fixings to lose. The beams have hooked ends that drop into slots punched down each upright and lock when pushed down, and the shelf panels then sit on the beams. Allow about 15 to 20 minutes for a storeroom bay — one person can do it, though a second pair of hands makes the first level easier. Our step-by-step assembly guide photographs every stage.

If you need the same system in a heavier grade for trade stock, the heavy duty warehouse racking range uses the same boltless method at 400kg per shelf.

Not only for homes

The same rack as an office rack and commercial rack

The name says storeroom, and most of these racks do go into HDB storerooms and household shelters. But the same 200kg shelf, white finish and 40–60cm depth turn out to suit a great many commercial rooms, and a growing share of our orders are from businesses rather than households. It is genuinely one rack for home and office — the same boltless shelving, ordered a bay at a time or as a complete store room racking system for a whole room.

  • New office fit-outs. This is the biggest commercial use. Equipment stores, stationery and supply rooms, and filing rooms for accounting records and archived documents — boxed files are much heavier than people expect, and ordinary office shelving is not rated for a full run of them.
  • Retail back-of-house. Stockrooms behind the shopfront, where goods come in by the carton and go out daily.
  • Restaurants and eateries. Back-of-kitchen dry goods storage. Steel panels wipe down, do not absorb moisture or odour, and have nothing in them for pests to feed on — which is exactly why board shelving does not belong in a food area.
  • Clean rooms and technical storage. We have installed these racks in a clean room environment for storing communication equipment, where a powder-coated steel surface that does not shed fibres or harbour dust matters more than the price.

What all four have in common is that the rack is being used properly rather than gently: loaded near its rating, reached into constantly, and expected to stay square. That comes back to the welded side frame.

For larger commercial premises — a warehouse, a logistics unit, a bigger office archive — the heavy duty warehouse rack range takes the same boltless system to 400kg per shelf and 245cm spans, and its installation gallery shows offices, retail stores, F&B and technical environments. For a commercial project we will quote delivery and installation with the racking, on a project basis.

How to order the right size

Choosing a storeroom rack in Singapore comes down to five things — and the first, measuring the door, is where most people go wrong.

  1. Measure the wall you want the rack against, then the door opening. A rack that fits the wall but not the doorway is the most common mistake we see.
  2. Choose the depth. 40cm for a narrow shelter wall, 50cm for a typical storeroom, 60cm if you are storing coolers, fans or carton boxes.
  3. Choose the length that leaves a few centimetres of clearance at each end — 100cm, 120cm or 140cm.
  4. Decide whether four shelf levels is enough, or add levels at S$35 to S$50 each.
  5. Send the numbers over. We confirm the fit before anything is charged, then deliver to a home address for a flat S$40 within 3 working days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size storeroom rack fits an HDB storeroom or household shelter?

Most HDB storerooms take a 100cm or 120cm bay. Depth is the decision that matters more: 40cm suits a narrow shelter wall, 50cm is the usual all-rounder, and 60cm is for bulky items. Every size stands 200cm tall. Measure the wall, the door opening and the ceiling first — the guide to measuring your storeroom lists each number to write down.

How much weight can each shelf hold?

Up to 200kg per shelf level, with the load spread evenly across the panel rather than stacked in one corner. That covers almost anything a home or small office storeroom holds. If you are storing pallets, bulk cartons or trade stock, the heavy duty warehouse rack is rated to 400kg per shelf instead and is the better buy.

Do I need tools, bolts or drilling to put it up?

None of the three. The rack is a boltless system: the beams lock into slots on the uprights when tapped home, and the shelf panels sit on the beams. Nothing is screwed into your wall or floor, so it is safe for an HDB household shelter where drilling is not permitted. Our step-by-step DIY rack assembly guide shows the order to build it in.

Can I add more shelf levels later?

Yes. Every rack ships complete with four shelves, and extra levels can be added to the same uprights at any time — S$35 to S$50 per shelf depending on the size. Because the levels are adjustable you can also re-space the existing four instead of buying more. Add-on shelves can go on your original order or a later one through our rack order form.

What do delivery and the warranty cover?

To a home — HDB, condominium or landed — delivery is a flat S$40 anywhere in Singapore and arrives within 3 working days of a confirmed order; the delivery and shipping policy covers access, lift and self-collection details. Every rack also carries a 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects on the frame, beams and shelf panels — see the full warranty terms.
